NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A two-car accident on upper East Main Street sent one woman to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
The collision was reported at 4:35 p.m. of an accident at East Main above Pleasant Street. A Chrysler PT Cruiser going north up around the "S" curve of the narrow street appeared to have been struck by a Dodge Neon sedan heading down.
Both bright red cars sustained damage. The Cruiser was hit on the driver's side door and the Neon had damage around the driver's side headlight. There was other damage on the Neon that didn't appear to be related to the accident.
Emergency responders helped the driver exit the Cruiser; she was taken by ambulance to North Adams Regional Hospital. Traffic was limited while the scene was being cleared.
The accident was still under investigation and police at the scene had not yet determined the sequence of events.
