Man Injured in Williamstown Car, Scooter Accident

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The operator of a motorized scooter was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield on Thursday after a collision at the intersection of Main Street and Colonial Avenue.
According to Williamstown Police, the accident was reported at 2:55 p.m.
The scooter was traveling west on Main Street (Route 2), when it was struck by a Toyota Corolla turning off Colonial Avenue and attempting to make a left onto Main.
The driver of the Toyota, Patrick Matthew Folan of Colonial Avenue, was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic while turning left.
The operator of the Honda Ruckus scooter, David Armet of Simonds Road, was transported to BMC. Police on Thursday night did not know Armet's condition.
Two wreckers were called to the scene — one for each vehicle.
