London Steinman, Josh Lennon and Kaden Codey had two hits apiece, and Shane Bernardo and Bo Bramer combined on a four-hitter in a game that ended in the bottom of the fifth when Bernardo doubled home Potash with one out.

Johnny Huska doubled and scored on Nick Hall's single in the top of the second for West.

Bryce Huffman and Sam Sherman handled the pitching for West.

Pittsfield South will be home on Wednesday against the champion of District 4 in the state tournament.

An earlier version of this story inadvertently switched the names of the teams in the last three paragraphs.

Pittsfield 15s Win Again in Babe Ruth Tourney

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Abdiel Cotto went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, and the Pittsfield Babe Ruth 15-year-old All-Stars roared to their third straight dominating win in pool play of the state tournament.

Pittsield scored nine runs in the first inning and beat Northbridge, 14-3, at Deming Park.

Pittsfield won its Pool A games by scores of 18-1, 19-1 and 14-3, a combined margin of 51-5.

Jack Scarafoni tripled, and Matt Stracuzzi and Jordan Nassif each doubled for Pittsfield, which advanced to the six-team, single-elimination tournament composed of the top two teams from each pool.

Great Barrington Takes 12-Year-Old Little League District Title

ADAMS, Mass. -- Great Barrington's Jack Carpenter led off the game with a walk and ended up scoring on a sacrifice fly, and that was all the offense the Great Barrington 12-year-old Little League All-Stars got.

And it was all Great Barrington needed in a 1-0 win over Pittsfield South needed on Saturday afternoon in the District 1 championship game.

Great Barrington pitchers Kenny Zucco and Grant Herrick were lights out in pitching their team to a tournament title out of the winner's bracket.

Max Joyner, who hit the sac fly to score Carpenter, also had a single and a double, and Nikos Casivant and Zucco each singled for Great Barrington.

For Pittsfield South, Zach Cerdato had two doubles, and Leo Arace and Christian Marchbank each singled.

South also turned in a defensive gem to keep the game close in top of the sixth.

Great Barrington had the bases loaded and nobody out when Pittsfield shortstop Zach Bernardo fielded a hot shot and fired home to Marchbank to get the lead runner. Marchbank relayed on to first to get the force and end the inning.

Jett Steinman was the hard-luck loser on the mound for Pittsfield South.
