Mount Anthony Scores Dramatic Giorgi League Win

Mount Anthony (1-0) inbounded the ball at half court with just more than two seconds left in game that saw the Pats of Bennington, Vt., come back from a 25-19 half-time deficit and take a lead, only to fall behind late, setting up Davis' heroics.
Davis scored six points with two rebounds. Ty Champagne led Mount Anthony with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Damon Burgess scored 13 for the Pats.
Alex Heck scored 22 points with four rebounds to lead Drury (0-1), which got six points and eight rebounds from Justice Marable.
In Thursday's other scheduled high school division game, Burr & Burton of Manchester, Vt., was leading its league debut, 48-47, against the Running Rebels when the the Rebels forfeited the game.
The Bulldogs' Joey Shehadi had 27 points and two rebounds, and Taylor Muench had seven points when play was suspended.
In Thursday's nightcap, Pete's Gun Shop/Maselli & Field defeated Mingo's/Greylock Bowl and Golf, 50-23.
Tim maselli scored 11 points, and Mike Decker and Joe Vareschi each had nine for the winners. Bob Malloy scored six points and grabbed six rebounds for Mingo's.

Wednesday 6/20/12: Hoosac Valley squeaked by Drury, 46-44. Hoosac’s Trevor Alibozek led the way with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Shawn Ryan Kut chipped in with six points. Drury's Nolan Bird dropped in 15 points, seven boards and two blocks, and Isaiah Pantoja scored 14 points.

The Hub/Farrington Contracting outdueled Moulton's Hearing/Hot Dog Ranch in overtime, 57-53. The Hub’s Nick Andrews was high man with 17 points and five rebounds while Ryan Morrissey and Kevin Engwer each chipped in with nine points. Moulton's Mike Meaney led the way with 16 points, Ben Faulkingham had 11 points 11 boards and Kevin Shaker added 10 points.

In the third game of the night, N.A. Law defeated MacDonald's, 46-40. Nate Williams led with 14 points for N.A. Law while Justin McCarthy and Jay Menard contributed eight points apiece. MacDonald’s Mike Cantoni posted 10 points and Cote Wemette and Ryan Donovan tallied nine apiece.

Sunday 6/17/2012 – Moonlight Diner picks up its first win of the season in a close one, 45-44. Ian Downey hit a clutch free throw with three seconds left in the game to give Moonlight the win. Jeff Bourdon led the way for Moonlight with 11 points, five rebounds and a blocked shot. John DeWolf pitched in with nine points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. Matt Ziter scored 13 points and Noah Snyder had 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks for JPS Derby.

Central Radio defeated Sunshine Pool & Fence, 71-52. For Central Radio, Tanner Darwell posted 18 points and six rebounds while Pat Kennedy landed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Callahan and Dave Wellington each had 11 points. Kollin Allard led the way for Sunshine with 16 points and Bob Malloy had a nice game with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Central Radio moves to 2-0 while Sunshine Pool & Fence drops to 1-2.

High School Division – Drury was led by Isaiah Pantoja with 13 points and Nolan Bird with 11 points as they went on to beat McCann 46-27. Josh Superneau was high man with 10 points and T.J. Therien had 7 points for McCann.

Moulton’s Hearing / Hot Dog Ranch defeated JPS Derby, 56-39. Mike Meaney led the way with 16 points while Ben Faulkingham scored 13 and pulled down 15 rebounds to go along with one block. Seth Shepard contributed 11 points and nine rebounds. Noah Synder led JPS with 12 points and eight rebounds.

High School Division: It was the Running Rebels 72, Hoosac Valley 55. Shaq Ardrey lead the Rebels with 22 points and Mike Taylor had 17 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. Shawn Ryan Kut and Corey Puccio each had 13 points while Alex Heck chipped in with 10 points.

John Giorgi Basketball League Opens 31st Season
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The John Giorgi Summer Basketball League opened its 31st season on Sunday with Sam G. defeating Sunshine Pool & Fence in OT 61 to 54.For Sam G., Sam Garivaltis led the way with 25 points five boards and two blocks, Chris Geannelis had 13 points and Greg Payton had 12 points 11 boards and a block. For Sunshine, Brandon Hurst scored 12 points had six boards and a block, Rob Malloy 11 points 10 rebounds and a blocked shot while Nick Martinelli had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Game two saw Central Radio beat Messenger Digital Dentistry 77 - 62. For Central Radio it was Pat Kennedy having a big night with 22 points, 18 rebounds and one blocked shot. Dave Wellington contributed 15 points and Sean Trottier had 14 points and eight rebounds. For Messenger it was Nick Bourdon leading the way with 27 points hitting five three pointers. Aaron Solari chipped in with 10 points

Monday: PNA defeated Messenger Digital Dentistry 61-30. It was a battle of former Hoosac Valley players. PNA's Brian Skiffington and Andrew Harmon led the way with 12 points each and Dan Kondel chipped in with 10 points. Messenger’s saw Nick Bourdon score 16 points and Gaylord Hunter had seven.

Key West got by S&S Auto Care 49 – 46. Adam O'Neal led the way with 13 points and 6 rebounds while Garret Harvey and Mike Vadnais had 12 and 11 points respectively. Vadnais also had 7 rebounds. For S&S it was Tim Maselli with 12 points and Mike Decker and Greg Moran each with eight points.

Wednesday: Champlain Masonry defeated MacDonald's 45 – 39. For Champlain, John Meczywor led the way with 14 points 12 rebounds four blocks. James Rivers had 12 points .Mac's Ryan Donovon scored 12 points had 10 rebounds and one block while Donyle Daugherty scored 10 points.

Moulton's Hearing Aids/Hot Dog Ranch beat N.A. Law 69 – 57. Moulton's Mike Meaney had a big game with 25 points, shooting 14 of 18 from the foul line while Ben Falkingham had 14 points seven rebounds. N.A. Law's Nate Williams led the way with17 points and Zach Ziemba had 12 points five boards and one block

In the high school division, Mount Greylock beat McCann 56 - 31. For Mount Greylock, Tyrell Thomas led the way with 20 points 13 rebounds and Nathan Majumder chipped in with 12 points. McCann's Justin Cote scored 16 points and had seven rebounds.
