Pittsfield Fire at Auto Shop Destroys Vehicle
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Five engines responded to a two-alarm fire at John's Automotive on Wednesday night.
At 9:07 p.m., the Fire Department responded to the one-alarm assignment and found heavy smoke at the three-bay garage at the Wahconah Street repair shop. After a second alarm was ordered the fire was under control within a "short period of time," according to the Fire Department's report.
The fire appears to have started from a vehicle parked inside. The vehicle was destroyed and the interior of the building received minor structural damage.
The cause is under investigation.
