WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The October 12, 2009 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine recognizes Williams women’s crew coach Justin Moore in its Faces in the Crowd section.
Over the past year Moore guided his Williams to an undefeated collegiate year, winning the Head of the Charles Collegiate Race, the Little Three and to regional and NCAA titles. Moore then capped off his incredible year by collecting a World Junior rowing title with the US women’s eight at the World Junior Championships in France in August.
On August 8 in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France Justin Moore directed the US Women’s 8+ (eight with a coxswain) to the gold medal at the World Rowing Junior Championships. The open water win by more than four seconds over New Zealand secures a berth for the US at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore next August.

The world gold medal closed out an incredible year for Moore as his Williams team also captured the 2008 Collegiate Eight at the prestigious Head of the Charles and in the spring of 2009 the Ephs collected the Little Three, NESCAC, New England and NCAA titles, while posting an undefeated season.
Moore’s Williams program has won five of the eight NCAA titles offered in Division III Women’s Rowing, including a record four in a row.
In July one of Moore’s top rowers, Katherine Robinson ’09 helped the US U23 quad boat win a silver medal at the World Rowing U23 Championships in the Czech Republic.
