Clues Revealed for Fall Foliage Leaf Hunt

Print Story | Email Story
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The annual Fall Foliage Leaf Hunt, a traditional feature of Fall Foliage Festival Week, starts today.

This year, the committee has revealed that along with the leaves there will be a lucky leaf with a grand prize. The leaves will be yellow except for the lucky leaf, which will be orange. The person who finds the orange leaf will be the grand-prize winner.

The leaves have been hidden throughout the Northern Berkshire area. Today's clues give the answer to the location of the leaves. When a leaf is found it must be brought to the Mayor's Office of Tourism at 6 West Main St. to claim his or her prize. One prize per household please.  Prizes are generously donated by area merchants.

A second set of clues will be announced in the event of unclaimed leaves. The committee says the leaves are well hidden and suggests participants should search the area they believe they should be thoroughly.

As always, the leaf committee has included an invisible leaf hunt for homebound residents. Participants are asked to mail a postcard with the number of the clue and answer with their name address and phone number, to the Mayor's Office of Tourism, 6 West Main St. North Adams MA 01247.

Only mailed postcards will be accepted. In the event of a tie, the earliest postmark will determine the winner.

Answers to the clues and names of the winners will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
