PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Pittsfield Co-operative Bank heralds the 12th Annual Hancock Shaker Village Country Fair with a raffle for a handmade reproduction of a 19th century Shaker “tool till”. Handcrafted on site by a Hancock Shaker Village artisan, the large chest of solid wood boasting 14 drawers of varying size has in its history, a traditional purpose to store small tools.
Raffle tickets are $5 and available until Friday, September 25, 2009 at all Co-op Bank branches in Pittsfield, Dalton, and Great Barrington. Raffle tickets will also be available at the Country Fair until the winning ticket is drawn on Sunday afternoon, September 27, 2009. All proceeds from the raffle to benefit Hancock Shaker Village. The Country Fair is one of the Village’s premier events and will span the weekend of September 26th – 27th on the historic Village grounds. This annual celebration of the harvest includes demonstrations, wagon rides, farmer’s market, children’s activities, and tents full with the best from local and regional crafters and artisans. Admission to the Village includes this great family event with members and children aged12 and under admitted free. Discount coupons are available at all Co-op Bank locations. Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is a fully restored village, now museum, dating to the 1700’s.
