Brayton Hill After School Program Inspired by Sol LeWitt04:01PM / Wednesday, June 10, 2009
The Brayton Hill After School Program, Kid Kit, has been working on a Sol LeWitt inspired 'wall drawing', or mural project for their Community Room. Young children in the after school program have been working this week with Alison Basdekis, a consultant from MASS MoCA’s Education Department, to develop an original piece of art on the wall. The kids in the after school program traveled to MASS MoCA last week to see the exciting work of Sol LeWitt.
They learned about his wall drawing instructions and the basic primary colors used in his works. This week, the kids have been putting this instruction to action, as they complete their own Sol Lewitt inspired wall drawing with Alison’s help. The kids are in charge of the developing, prepping, and painting of the project.
Please stop by the Brayton Hill Community Room on Thursday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. to witness the completion of this exciting project! |
