North Adams Public Library Accepting Book Sale Donations

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Friends of the North Adams Public Library are accepting donations for their book sale. Items needed are clean, gently used fiction and nonfiction books, books on tape or CD and DVDs.

Items not accepted are any encyclopedia, magazines, textbooks or readers digest books or any book with water or mildew damage. Medical books must be less than 3 years old and paperbacks must have their covers.

For more information, call the library at 413-662-3133. The library is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9 to 8, Wednesday and Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 1.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
