Friday: Hemingway Comes Alive!In a series entitled Keeping History Alive, thespian Richard Clark brings notable historical figures to life. For this performance, he will awaken Ernest Hemingway through his method acting. Clark gains insight on the figures he features in his performances from biographies, autobiographies, personal letters and the works of various playwrights. With more than 30 years of theatrical experience, Clark is sure to embody Hemingway and provide a stellar show.

Saturday+: Baby Animals at Hancock Shaker Village!Welcome spring with the newest barnyard babies! Greet the lambs, piglets, calves and chicks filling the historic Round Stone Barn. Visitors can pet the new arrivals and explore the surrounding farmyard, historic buildings, and blossoming gardens. This annual event stretches from April 11th to May 3rd. With all of the baby animals out and about, this farm full of critters is sure to make a great family outing.

Saturday: Inspiration Italy Artists TalkIf you didn't get a chance to meet and talk to the artists of the wonderful exhibit, Inspiration Italy: 3 Women Paint the Heart of Tuscany, Saturday will be your last chance to do so. Join artists Karen Arp-Sandel, Carol Acquilano and Leigh Ann Smith as they discuss and answer questions about both their time in Italy and the plein air (outdoor) paintings they created there and will include a gallery tour of the exhibition. This is the last week for this sun-drenched show, don't miss it!

Saturday: Samuel Harrison Birthday Celebration!The Samuel Harrison Society celebrates the 191st birthday of the late Reverend Samuel Harrison, an essential member of the Pittsfield community during his lifetime. The celebration features special guest speaker Byron Rushing from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. In addition, Rev. Dr. James Lumsden and his band from First Church of Christ Congregational in Pittsfield, Between the Banks, the Gospel Choir of Second Congregational Church, andthe Youth Alive Step Dance Team will perform. Reverend Harrison was an important contributor to the philosophical and political debate over race relations during the last half of the 19th century and was an eloquent preacher of independence and self-worth. Birthday cake and beverages will follow the celebration.

Satruday night: Second Saturday Folk Music!The Second Saturday Folk Series takes place on the second Saturday of the month in downtown Pittsfield and features both international and local folk music performers. This month, the series presents brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Irion and Sarah Lee Guthrie, to take the stage in a night of indie music bliss! Both are multi-talented musicians and are determined to bring their musicality at its fullest for the Pittsfield audience!

Thursday night: Find Your Own Grants OnlineTricks of the Trade is a professional development seminar series for artists, artisans and creatives held throughout Berkshire County. This Thursday, bring your laptop to the Berkshire Athenaeum and learn how to access and search for grants on The Foundation Center database, as well as in their directories. The Athenaeum is the only Berkshire County location that is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, the largest collection of foundation and grants info in the country. The workshop are free, but do require pre-registration: space is limited!
