WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams College Department of Music will present three small student jazz ensembles coached by Freddie Bryant on Tuesday, April 14 at 8 p.m. in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall on the Williams College campus. This free event is open to the public.
The small ensembles are: Jazztronauts featuring Geoff Rodriguez '11, Ben Peskoe '10, Rob Pasternak '11, Charlie Dougherty '09, and Sam Kapala '09; Thursday Night Trio featuring Alex Creighton '10, Jimi Oke '10, and Samyam Rajbhandari '11; and La Roca featuring Aspen Jordan '11, Paisley Kang '12, Connor Kamm '10, Rob Pasternak '11, Charlie Dougherty '09, and Kenny Flax '09.
“Freddie Bryant is a brilliant young guitarist and composer,” the great guitarist Kenny Burrell wrote. He is a versatile musician skilled both in jazz and classical music receiving his BA from Amherst College ’87, Master’s degree in classical guitar from the Yale School of Music, and currently teaches at Williams College in Massachusetts in the Africana and Music departments and at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen, Holland.
