Johnny Winter Band at The Mahaiwe04:11PM / Friday, January 09, 2009
GREAT BARRINGTON. Mass. - On Friday, January 23 at 8pm, legendary guitarist Johnny Winter will play The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, MA.
For over 30 years, Johnny Winter has been a guitar hero without equal. Constantly shifting between simple country blues in the vein of Robert Johnson, to all-out electric slide guitar blues-rock, Johnny has always been one of the most respected singers and guitar players in rock and the clear link between British blues-rock and American Southern rock (a la the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.) His recent Grammy nominated "I'm A Bluesman" disc (Virgin/EMI), has only added to his Texas-sized reputation.
Tickets for Johnny Winter Band are available through The Mahaiwe Box Office: Wednesday – Saturday: 12noon – 6pm plus 3 hrs prior to all showtimes. Online at: www.mahaiwe.org. Tickets: $39/ $34 Mahaiwe Members
Most recently, Johnny was nominated for a W.C. Handy award for Second Winter Legacy Edition. For more on Winter’s amazing career visit: http://www.johnnywinter.net. |
