Berkshire Humane Society To Host Holiday Open House
Pittsfield, Mass. - The Berkshire Humane Society would like invite the public to its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday Dec. 7th from 1pm until 3pm at the shelter on 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield. All BHS Volunteers are especially asked to attend as a thank-you from the staff and animals at the shelter for all that they do.There will be free refreshments; including hot cider, eggnog, and homemade baked goods, door prizes and raffles. You do not need to be present to win the prizes, just stop by and sign-up. The annual Holiday Open House is an opportunity for the BHS staff to thank the many people in the community who have either, adopted shelter animals or continue to support the Berkshire Humane Society and its programs throughout the year.
The Berkshire Humane Society is an open admission shelter, providing refuge for homeless animals in Berkshire County, free educational programs for local school children, a pet-food bank for economically distressed pet owners, and assistance for The Elizabeth Freeman Center in providing women with a safe haven for their pets during crisis. BHS receives no public funding and relies on memberships and donations to continue to help Animals and People. The shelter is open Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 4pm, Thursday evenings 5-8pm, and Sundays 1-4pm. The shelter closes at noon on the last Wednesday of each month.
