Three Injured in Pittsfield Shooting PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield Police are investigating a shooting that occured at Teti's Luncheonette at 233 Columbus Ave. late Wednesday.
Police said they were called to the restaurant after receiving reports of shots being fired inside the establishment and, upon arrival, found two individuals had been shot. Both were transported to Berkshire Medical Center by ambulance and a third shooting victim was brought to the hospital by a friend.
Police described the suspect as a black man of medium build and wearing a dark sweat shirt or sweater. Police also said a silver sport utility vehicle was seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.
Gearing Up For 'To Kill A Mockingbird'
PITTSFIELD — The community is gearing up for for classic book, classic motion picture, stage production and even radio drama of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "To Kill a Mockingbird."
The love affair with "Mockingbird" begins on Wednesday, Oct. 1, when the Colonial Theatre plans to run the film, starring Gregory Peck. The Barrington Stage Company will feature the stage version of the book from Oct. 8 through 26.
Libraries at Pittsfield schools are encouraging students to read the book during October and Taconic High School faculty and drama students are producing a radio drama of "To Kill a Mockingbird" that will air on the Taconic High School FM station, 89.7 WTBR-FM, later in October.
