Summer Music Lectures - July 01, 2008
LENOX — The Summer Music Seminars, designed to prepare concertgoers for Tanglewood events, are beginning their 25th season, led by Boston University Music Professor Jeremy Yudkin, a Lenox resident. The lectures are offered at the Lenox Library every weekend through the summer.
Yudkin, who directs his talks to non-experts, is the author of eight books on music and has lectured widely in this country and abroad. His book on the Lenox School of Jazz was recently published by the Lenox Library Association, and he is also the creator of the Lenox Beatles Weekends, held annually in late June.
“Music is for everyone!” he says. “My job is to help people enjoy music even more than they already do.”
Yudkin’s pre-concert lectures are held on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Sunday mornings from 10 to noon.
