Elder Services And Lee Regional VNA To Offer Four Caregiver Training Sessions - May 30, 2008
The Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association, through a subgrant from Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc., is offering a series of four 2-hour long caregiver training sessions, one on each of the four Mondays in June, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The training sessions will be held at Elder Services, 66 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield, are free of charge, and open to all non-professional caregivers. Caregivers may attend as many of the four sessions as they wish.
The free training are designed to assist family caregivers of elderly, frail, ill, disabled or dying people living at home. The topics for the four sessions are: June 2 - Nutrition and Meal Planning; June 9 - Physical and Occupational Therapy Overview; June 16 - Basic Personal Care/Medications; and June 23, Infection Control in the Home.
