AARP Driver Safety Program - April 24, 2008
PITTSFIELD — EPOCH Assisted Living at Melbourne will host a two-day AARP Driver Safety Program on Tuesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days. This is the nation’s first and largest classroom driver improvement course designed by the AARP for motorists aged 50 plus. Lunch will be provided, and EPOCH is located at 140 Melbourne Road.
The eight-hour course targets the most common issues faced by older drivers, including defensive driving techniques, rules of the road, new traffic laws and age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. Graduates of the workshop will gain an increased appreciation for driving challenges and the knowledge to help prevent potential collisions and injuries. This refresher course is crucial for people who wish to remain safely mobile. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion, which may help lower auto insurance costs. AARP membership is not required to attend this seminar.
The cost of this two-day workshop is $10 and you must pre-register. Upon completion of the course, registration fees will be refunded compliments of EPOCH Assisted Living. For more information or to pre-register, call 413-499-1992. |
