Lanesborough Animal Control Position DiscussedBy Lanesborough News - February 24, 2008
LANESBOROUGH - Bids for replacing the glass doors in the Town Hall were discussed at the Selectmen's meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21.
A motion was made and passed to accept the low bid of $6,100 from Colvin Glass. Tim and Wendy Hamiliton attended the meeting to discuss the animal control officer position. Town Manager Paul Boudreau has also had some conversations with the town manager in Dalton. There is a possibility of sharing the position with the Dalton animal control officer. The Hamilitons and the board will continue to consider all options. A stray dog was found on North Main Street. It is described as a male, mixed-breed husky. For more information, call Town Hall.
The Board of Finance, led by Chairman William Stevens, also attended meeting to update the Selectmen on the town budget. The Finance Board has received many requests from various town boards and employees. There was extensive discussion of the pluses and minuses of the requests. Each board will continue to evaluate the budget and meet again as the process continues.
