Free Homebuyer Certification Course
Pittsfield - Greylock Federal Credit Union will be offering a free Mass Housing Homebuyer Certification Course beginning Tuesday, January 29, at the Bass Water Grill Route 8 in Cheshire. The course consists of four 2-hour sessions, on Tuesday, January 29; Thursday, January 31; Tuesday, February 5; and Thursday, February 7, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.Homebuyer certification is required for any first-time homebuyer applying for a MassHousing reduced-interest loan. The course is offered quarterly, and the certificate is good for one year. Buyers must attend all four classes in order to receive their certificate.
People who are considering purchasing a home in the next 6 to12 months, are encouraged to register for the course. Topics covered include budgeting, credit reports, financing options, rights and responsibilities of a buyer, and understanding the process of purchasing and owning your first home.
