NORTH ADAMS - No arrests have been made yet in connection with an armed robbery that took place at the Cumberland Farms on Route 2 this weekend.
Police are keeping mum on the details of the robbery because it is still under investigation. However, Commissioner of Public Safety E. John Morocco said on Monday afternoon that he expected to release more information soon.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, two men wearing red scarves to disguise their faces, robbed the clerk at the gas station, getting away with an unspecified amount of cash. One of the men was brandishing a handgun, said Morocco.
The clerk was unable to further identify the individuals or indicate in what direction they were heading.
Morocco said he believed that, at the time of the robbery, the clerk was the only individual in the store.
According to the police log, the clerk's boyfriend contacted the police before the clerk reported a crime. The police log did not indicate where the boyfriend was at the time of the call.
