MCLA Chemical Threat a False AlarmStaff reports - October 23, 2007
NORTH ADAMS - The North Adams Fire Department was called to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts late Monday evening, following the discovery of a "small container with an unknown substance" in a classroom in Murdock Hall.
According to a statement released to the student population Monday night, the building was evacuated and an air quality check was done on the room as a precautionary measure.
"The container was determined not to be a threat and was removed from the building. The container is being appropriately secured in a chemical storage locker until it can be removed by a professional company," the statement read.
The Fire Department cleared the room by 9 p.m. and Tuesday classes in Murdock Hall are expected to held as expected. |
