The Colonial Theatre celebrates an era of love and rock ‘n roll with the fun-filled production of Beehive, The ‘60s Musical, playing October 26th through the 27th. This national tour production of Beehive, The ‘60s Musical includes 45 wigs, 40 costumes and more than 40 of the greatest songs from the decade. Beehive, The ‘60s Musical features songs made popular by The Chiffons, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Connie Francis, Lesley Gore, Janis Joplin and more. You’ll hear “The Name Game,” “It’s My Party,” “Proud Mary,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Judy’s Turn to Cry,” “To Sir With Love,” “One Fine Day,” “You Don’t Own Me,” “R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” “Where The Boys Are,” “I Hear a Symphony” and more. Told through the memories of an adult woman who recounts what her life was like from her teenage years through her days as a young woman, Beehive tells of change in the era when a teenager was worrying about boys and her first kiss to the war torn era of Vietnam with peace signs, controversial race relations and women’s voices becoming stronger in society. The cast includes Teanna Berry, Alicia Campbell, Patrice Covington, Kate Feerick, Emily Portune and Jillian Nyhan Zygo. Elizabeth Gross and Courtney Washington serve as understudies for all six roles. This professional cast was selected from an exclusive national NYC call that had over 200 women vying for these six roles. Jillian Nyhan Zygo has traveled the country playing Ado Annie on the Oklahoma! national tour, but left her gypsy lifestyle to play Fanny Brice in Funny Girl at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Arizona for which she won an AriZoni Award for Best Actress in a Major Musical. Other roles include Meg Brockie in Brigadoon, Violet in Violet, Maureen in Honk! and Queenie in Ragtime at the Fulton Opera House. Kate Feerick - is reprising her role in Beehive, graduated from University of New Hampshire and is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Some credits include The Full Monty (Pam, u/s Georgie), Oklahoma! (Laurey), Smokey Joe's Cafe (Pattie), Godspell, Phantom (Christine) and Anything Goes (Bonnie/Hope). Teanna Berry is originally from Anaheim, California and returns to a role she created earlier this year. She was most recently seen satisfying the sweet tooth of many by performing at Hershey Park this past summer. Favorite roles include Velma in Chicago and the Fortuneteller in Sideshow. Courtney Washington is a native of Los Angeles, California but now lives in New York City. A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, her credits include Beehive (Hilton Head, SC), Into the Woods and Once On This Island (both - Los Angeles, CA). Elizabeth Gross made her New York City debut in All Dolled Up and has recently been seen in numerous readings of new works. Regionally she has performed as Julie LaVerne in ShowBoat and Mae in Bye Bye Birdie. She holds a BFA in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at Cap 21 and Stonestreet Studios. Patrice Covington is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia and a graduate of Virginia’s Governor’s School for Performing Arts. Her works include Spirit Cruises, Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and Tampa, Disney Cruise Lines and Jambalaya, a Vegas style show held in The Bahamas. Emily Cara Portune is a recent graduate with a BFA in Music Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory. Some of her more favorite roles include Amneris (Aida), Shelley (Bat Boy), Bianca (Kiss Me Kate), Brenda (Smokey Joe’s Cafe), Beggar Woman (Sweeney Todd), Woman 1 (And the World Goes ‘Round) and Betty Blake (Will Rogers Follies). Alicia Campbell has the professional credits of Charlaine in Ain't Misbehavin’, Nehebka in Aida, Gilmer in Godspell, Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show and numerous ensemble roles. Other favorite roles include Lil Timoune in Once On This Island and Penny in The Fabulous 50's and 60's Musical Revue. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. This production of Beehive, The ‘60s Musical was originally conceived and directed by Gary John La Rosa. Gary John has staged Aida, Footloose and West Side Story at Sacramento Music Circus, CA; La Cage aux Folles at Downtown Cabaret Theatre (Outstanding Director – Connecticut Critic’s Circle) and I Love My Wife at the Helen Hayes and Emelin Theatres, NY. His other credits include Pins and Needles at Jewish Repertory; Another Day in Paradise at the Triad and Zipper Theatres; In My Dream… at the Vortex (all NYC); Fiddler on the Roof at WV Public Theatre (with opera star Spiro Malas), and NH premieres of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Jason P. Hayes is the Hair & Wig Designer and is from the Boston area. Jason is the Key Hair Designer for TV’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. His film credits include Camp, Party Monster, Garden State, P.S., TransAmerica (which opened at The Tribeca Film Festival) and Shall Not Want. On Broadway, he has worked on the hits Hairspray and Chicago. Recently he designed the national tours of Smokey Joe's Café and Grease as well as multiple shows for Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey. Jason's celebrity talent list includes such artists as Katie Couric, Macaulay Culkin, Marcia Gay Harden, Laura Linney, Dylan McDermott, Chita Rivera, Mary Stuart-Masterson, Cherry Jones, RuPaul & The B52's. This national tour is produced by Prather Entertainment Group, owned and operated by William T. Prather and Andrea Prather of Fort Myers, Florida. Ironically, the company’s first tour was Grease in 1975 which opened at the York Strand Capitol where this tour of Beehive, The ‘60s Musical made its debut. Pittsfield Cannabis Cultivator Plans Dispensary

PITTSFIELD. Mass. — A cannabis cultivator and manufacturer has opted to sell its products on site in Downing Parkway. 

The Zoning Board of Appeals this month approved a special permit for J-B.A.M. Inc. to operate a dispensary out of its existing grow facility. There will only be changes to the interior of 71 Downing Parkway, as there will be less than 500 square feet of retail space in the 20,000-square-foot building. 

"My only concern would be the impact, and really would be traffic, which I don't think is excessive, the odor, if there was one, but that doesn't seem to be an issue, and I think it's a good location for a marijuana facility," board member Thomas Goggins said. 

The company's indoor cultivation site plan was approved in 2019, an amendment to add manufacturing and processing in 2021, and on the prior day, a new site plan to add a retail dispensary was approved by the Community Development Board. 

J-B.A.M. cannabis products are available in local dispensaries. 

The interior of the facility will be divided to accommodate an enclosed check-in area, front entrance, retail lobby, secure storage room, offices, and two bathrooms. There are 27 parking spaces for the facility, which is sufficient for the use. 

No medical or recreational cannabis uses are permitted within 500 feet of a school or daycare, a setback that is met, and the space is within an industrial park at the end of a cul-de-sac. 

"The applicant desires the restructuring of the business to be more competitive in the industry with the ability to grow and sell their own cannabis products so they have more financial stability," Chair Albert Ingegni III, read from the application.
