Constance A. Brassard, 95
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Constance Allen Brassard, 95, of 75 School St. died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 19, 1917, daughter of Timothy and Catherine Allen Brown, she attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1934.
Mrs. Brassard had worked at the former W.T. Grant, Rudolph Jewelers and J.C. Penny stores before joining PenBob Realty, where she worked for many years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church in North Adams. She was the treasurer for the local chapter of AARP and enjoyed collecting cookbooks and cardinals.
Her husband, Francis J. Brassard, whom she married on Feb. 17, 1936, died on Aug. 15, 1985.
She leaves three grandsons, Paul R. Brassard Jr. of Clarksburg, who was her caregiver for the past five years, Jeffrey Brassard of Adams and and Michael Brassard of North Adams; seven great-grandchildren, Nolan, Aaron, Zachary, Scott, Corbin, Allison and Michael Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Geri Higgins Brassard, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two sons, Francis Brassard Jr. on Aug. 7, 1976, and Paul R. Brassard on May 9, 2009, and nine siblings, Helen Brown, Julia Dupuis, Betsy Dickerman and Susan Dunn, and Linden, Timothy, Harold, Frank and Edwin Brown.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Brassard will be celebrated Friday, June 8, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services in care of the funeral home.
