Charles Goddard, 73

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Charles Goddard, 73, formerly of North Adams, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Sugar Hill Assisted Senior Living Community in Dalton, where he had resided since June 2010. Born on July 23, 1938, son of Charles and Elnora Davis Goddard, he attended schools in North Adams and was a member of the Army National Guard. Mr. Goddard retired from Vishay-Sprague Electric Co., where he was employed for many years. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan, an avid fan of the North Adams SteepleCats and enjoyed fishing and bowling. He leaves two sons, Charles Goddard Jr. of Vermont and Scott Goddard of Pittsfield; a daughter, Susan Sayers of Hinsdale; four brothers, William Goddard and Donald Goddard, both of North Adams, Ernest Goddard of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Wayne Goddard of North Pownal, Vt.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his sons Joseph and Bruce Goddard, his brothers Alan and Roger Goddard and a sister, Leona Goddard. FUNERAL NOTICE - A private graveside service for Mr. Goddard will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Berkshire County Kids Place through Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Home for Funerals, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Chuck was a great guy. He loved NA and especially the hometown Steeplecats. He will be missed by many.
