Paul C. Cook, 90

CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Paul C. Cook, 90, of 427 West Road died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on July 7, 1920, a son of Charles and Alma Hermann Cook, he attended schools in North Adams. He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Cook was employed at the former General Electric Co. in Pittsfield from 1967 until his retirement. He had earlier worked at the former Hoosic Mills and, for several years, been road superintendent for Clarksburg in the 1960s. He was a former member of the North Adams Eagles. His wife, the former Vera Lapan, whom he married in October 1940, died in October 2003. He leaves a son, Robert P. Cook of Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Cook. FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services will take place Thursday, March 31, at 1 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will take place at a later date in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 11 until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
