Domenica A. Grande, 91

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Domenica Ann "Minnie" Grande, 91, formerly of 55 Brooklyn St., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at North Adams Commons, where she had resided for four years. Born in North Adam on May 16, 1919, a daughter of George and Mariann Cirullo Catrambone, she graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1937. A devoted wife, mother and homeamker, Mrs. Grande was employed at the former Hoosic Cotton Mill and former Sprague Electric Co. during World War II. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was past secretary of the Rosary Society, a member of the Jollee Circle, hospitality chairman of the North Adams Garden Club, assistant treasurer of the Sprague Retirees, a member of the St. Anthony Bazaar Committee, a member of the Sisterhood Tea Committee, a member of the Italian Girls Club and a former member of the Sons of Italy. Her husband, Chester Francis Grande, whom she married June 8, 1940 in the former St. Anthony of Padua Church, died Dec. 3, 2000. She leaves a daughter, Patricia Denault and her husband, Daniel, of Clarksburg; two sons, Chester A. Grande and his wife, Gale, of Adams and Charles P. Grande and his wife, Susan, of North Adams; a sister, Rose Vareschi of North Adams; four grandchildren, Lynn Larssen of Jackson, Wisc., Traci Lavigne of Lanesborough, Michael P. Grande of North Adams and Ryan A. Denault of Clarksburg; a great-grandson, Nicholas Lavigne, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers, Rita C. DiSanti, Teresa Deso, Mary A. Catrambone, Elizabeth Mastroianni, Angela Rose Frances Catrambone, Joseph Catrambone and Michael Catrambone. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Grande will take place Monday, Dec. 6, at 11 at St. Elizabeth's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Elizabeth's Church Building Fund through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
