I graduated from Drury High School in 1865 with Dan's brother Ed.
In 1968-9 I served in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division.
I was assigned to A Co, 1/12th Infantry Battalion and I heard that there was someone from North Adams in D Co. We worked a mission with D Co. and I went to look for this soldier and learned who it was and immediately spotted Danny due to his uncanny resembelance to his brother Ed ! We immediately made friends and spent some time talking about Norh Adams and the things we knew about home !
That was over 40 years ago now and I never even saw Dan again but I heard about his dedication to the welfare of his fellow veterans !!
Rest well dear comrade, your mission is over now and it was a complete and total victory for you and all the veterans that you helped !
