Paul R. Brassard, 66

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Paul R. Brassard, 66, of 65 School St. died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at home. Born in North Adams on March 1, 1943, a son of Constance Brown Brassard and the late Francis Brassard, he attended schools in Clarksburg and North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1961. Mr. Brassard was first employed at Richardello's Machine Shop, later at Hunter Machine Co. in North Adams and then at Pierce Machine Co. in Adams as a shop foreman, retiring in 2008. Besides his mother, of Clarksburg, he leaves loving wife, the former Geri Higgins, whom he married Nov. 17, 1962; three sons, Paul R. Brassard Jr. of Clarksburg, Jeffrey Brassard and his wife, Colleen, of Adams and Michael Brassard and his wife, Carrie, of North Adams; seven grandchildren, Nolan, Aaron, Zach, Scott, Corbin, Allison and Michael Brassard Jr. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis Brassard Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Brassard will take place Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for Shriner's Hospital in Springfield through the funeral home.
