Adeline L. Segala, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Adeline Lucille Segala, 84, of 13 Pebble St. died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Williamstown Commons. Born in Adams on Jan. 1, 1925, a daughter of Louis F. and Gertrude Horner Roberts, she attended schools in Adams, including the former Notre Dame School. Mrs. Segala was employed with the former Sprague Electric Co. for more than 40 years until her retirement in 1985. She had previously worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Adams. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and a member of the Sprague Quarter Century Club and the Sprague Retirees. She loved playing bingo and card playing and enjoyed camping with her family during the summer months. She and her husband, John Francis Segala, were married July 31, 1943, in the former Notre Dame Church in Adams. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mary Angela Giroux and her husband, David, of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sons, John F. Segala Jr. and his wife, Nancy Iacuessa, of Venice, Fla., Michael Anthony Segala and his wife, Joy, of Suisun City, Calif., Marc Alan Segala and his wife, Donna, of Argyle, Texas, and Neil Andrew Segala and his wife, Susan, of North Adams; a sister-in-law, Margaret Stefanski of Adams, whom she raised from early childhood; three sisters, Carmel Bleau of North Adams, Elizabeth Carpenter of Adams and Evelyn Gustafson of Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Eric, Michelle, Nicole, Jennifer, Michelle, Susan, Jennafer, Marc Jr., Maria, Alexander and Deana; three great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Roberts, and her sisters Ruth Sumner, Margaret Tinney, Theresa Gagnon, Marcella Brothers and Helen Talarico. FUNERAL SERVICES — Funeral services will take place Friday, April 10, at 11 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, April 9, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.

Mom, I miss you and Dad. I should have been home more but you always told me to search for my dreams. I am still the explorer, remembering the days of my spontaneous hitch-hiking to anywhere and everywhere only to call you and let you know I was safe. I LOVE YOU...how about some cribbage when we meet again in 2050...I think we are tied (2056 to 2056 wins)
