Josephine M. Reid, 83

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Josephine Mary "Jo" Reid, 83, of 58 West End Terrace died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. Born in Central Falls, R.I., on Feb. 7, 1925, a daughter of Frank and Josephine Posneck Siatkowski, she attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School. Mrs. Reid was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. for more than 40 years as a master technician in the ceramic laboratory. She was a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams. She enjoyed shopping and cats, and loved gardening. She was a caregiver to many friends and family. Her first husband, Raymond Walter Kelly, whom she married on Aug. 19, 1942, died in 1955. She and her husband, Donald I. Reid, were married on Sept. 12, 1964. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Joanna Salkovitz and her husband, Murray, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Patricia L. Kelly and her companion, Vincent Brosseau, of Cheshire; four grandchildren, Christopher Bushika of South Attleboro, Cary Bushika and his wife, Mary, of Windham, Maine, Rick D'Elia and Kellie D'Elia-Laskin and her husband, Bradman Laskin, of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and four great-grandchildren, Timothy Bushika, Emily Bushika, Kevin Bushika and Bradford Laskin. A sister, Frances Mack, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mrs. Reid will be Saturday, Jan. 24, at 10:30 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 2 to 4. Memorial donations may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
