Wayne B. DeRose, 55
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Wayne Bruce DeRose, 55, of 334 Union St. died Wednesday morning, July 18, 2001, at home after a long illness.
Born in North Adams on April 18, 1946, son of Joseph and Helen Scott DeRose, he attended North Adams schools.
Mr. DeRose was an antiques dealer for many years in Berkshire County and in Southern Vermont. He was the owner and operator, with his brother, Charles "Sonny" DeRose, of the former Trading Post in Adams.
He enjoyed collecting antiques and helping children.
He and his wife, the former Patricia Ann Notarpippo, were married July 6, 1985, in North Adams.
Besides his wife and his brother, of North Adams, he another brother, Robert J. DeRose of North Adams, and sister, Joanne Carpenter of North Adams, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. DeRose will take place Friday at 1 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with the Rev. Michael Twardzik, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Ronald McDonald House for Children through the funeral home.
