Agnes F. Fosser, 75
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Agnes Fay Fosser, 75, of 96 Cross Road, died Monday at home.
Born in North Adams on May 30, 1931, daughter of Frank G. and Elsie Neville Henderson, she attended schools in Clarksburg and North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1949.
Mrs. Fosser was an assistant librarian at Clarksburg Town Library. Before that, she worked as a special-needs aide at Clarksburg Elementary School.
She was a member of Stamford (Vt.) Community Church, the Beautification Committee, the Historical Society, the Senior Center, the Friends of Council of on Aging, the Briggsville Women's Club, the Golden Tones and the Henderson Clan (part of the Scottish Clans of America).
She also volunteered at Williamstown Commons nursing home.
She and her husband, retired Police Chief Philip J. Fosser, would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary May 20.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Gordon P. Fosser of Pittsfield and John G. Fosser of Pownal, Vt.; a sister, Ruth Jane Ryan of Clarksburg; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Fay E. Langlois, on June 21, 1984, and a sister, Elsie M. Deso.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Fosser, who died Monday, April 23, 2007, will be Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 Church St., North Adams. Burial will be in Clarksburg Cemetery at a date convenient to the family.
Calling hours will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial gifts may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department, the Briggsville Women's Club or the Clarksburg Senior Center, all in care of the funeral home.
