Genevieve Murach, 92
ADAMS, Mass. — Genevieve "Jennie" Murach, 92, of 22 Pearl St., died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown following a long illness.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 1, 1914, daughter of Pasquale and Constance Astorino Mazza, she attended local schools, including the former St. Anthony's Grammar School and the former Johnson School.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Murach was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co., in the dry rolling department for 25 years. She was employed by Sofros Brothers Bag Co. of North Adams for 14 years
She was a member of the Roman Catholic parishes of Adams and a member of the St. Thomas Rosary Sodality.
She and her husband, Walter S. Murach, were married in St. Anthony's Church in North Adams on June 27, 1953.
Mrs. Murach leaves a son, Marc A. Murach of Pittsfield; a daughter, Mary Ellen Tower and her husband, Russell, of Morristown, Tenn.; a sister, Esther Poplaski of North Adams, and three grandchildren, Arianna Sprague and Kalia and Dani Marie Power.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mrs. Murach will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
The family will greet friends tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Pasquale Mazza.
