Joyce A. Cote, 65
FLORIDA, Mass. â€' Joyce Anne Cote, 65, of 69 Moores Road died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Florida on March 30, 1940, daughter of R. Harold and Albina LaFountaine Burdick, she attended schools there and in North Adams, including Drury High School.
Mrs. Cote was a homemaker.
She was a member of Florida Baptist Church and enjoyed drawing, cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles and tending her turnip garden. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She and her husband, Edward L. Cote, celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary Dec. 24. They were married at Florida Baptist Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Debra Joyce Sarkis of Rutherfordton, N.C.; five sons, Kenneth L. Cote of Salt Lake City, Russell L. Cote of Adams, Donald Rene Cote of North Adams, and Lawrence R. Cote and James A. Cote, both of Florida; two sisters, Sylvia Brayman of Petersburgh, N.Y., and Thelma Gomez of Monroe; 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Timothy Cote in 1963 and Leonard Cote in 2002, and by two brothers, Gordon Burdick and Carl Burdick.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mrs. Cote will be conducted Monday at 11 at Florida Baptist Church by the Rev. Roy Burdick. Burial will be in the spring in Church Cemetery.
