Arthur H. Molyneux, 85

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. â€' Arthur Herbert Molyneux, 85, of 118 Church St. died Wednesday evening, April 30, 2003, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where he had been admitted April 26. Born in North Adams on Oct. 20, 1917, son of George and Rose Mary Herbert Molyneux, he attended schools in Williamstown and North Adams, and graduated from Drury High School in 1937. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Medical Corps from 1942 to 1945. He served in Europe and participated in the Invasion of Normandy. Mr. Molyneux was employed by Williamstown Elementary School as a custodian until he retired in 1982. Prior to that, he worked at Broad Brook School for many years until it closed. He was first employed at the former Arnold Print Works' Waverly Division in Adams. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was also a member of Richard A. Ruether Post 152 American Legion and the Friendship Circle at the Harper Center. He enjoyed dancing. He leaves his wife, the former Emily Elizabeth Warren, whom he married June 28, 1947, in Adams, and nieces and nephews, including Mary Louise Brooks of North Adams, Susan N. Davis of Florida and William Slater of Oregon. Three sisters and a brother predeceased him: Gladys Slater, Emily Barrett, Ethel McLain and William J. Molyneux. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Funeral services for Mr. Molyneux will take place Wednesday, May 7, at 10 at St. John's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Peter Elvin, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Discretionary Fund or to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of the arrangements.
