Regina Barbeau, 94

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Regina H. Barbeau, 94, of 150 Ashland St., Apt. 213, died Feb. 14, 2002, at Williamstown Commons. Born in Williamstown on Aug. 10, 1907, daughter of Henry and Alexina Rancourt Clermont, she moved to Adams with her family as a child and attended schools there. She completed her education at the former Finishing School for Home Economics in Adams. Mrs. Barbeau was employed by the Boston Fish Market, retiring in 1976. She was first employed with the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Adams, and later by the former Hoosac Cotton Mills for several years, then by Cascade Co. on Brown Street and in Bennington, Vt. She also was employed by the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. She was a longtime communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) MA 229 for many years. Her husband, Rouville Ernest Barbeau, whom she married in Notre Dame Church in Adams, died July 21, 1960. She leaves a daughter, Lorraine Lepel of Williamstown; four sons, Bernard R. Barbeau of Adams, Robert W. Barbeau of Tucson, Ariz., Richard A. Barbeau of North Adams, and William O. Barbeau of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Aline Lord of Adams; two brothers, Armand Clermont of Adams and Edward "Jackie" Clermont of North Adams; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren. A son, Francis Edward Barbeau, died Jan. 12, 1999. She also was predeceased by 13 sisters and brothers, Yvonne Clermont, Florence Clermont, Jeanne Dupuis, Blanche Cunningham, Alida "Ida" Mazza, and Oliver, Noel, Paul, Harvey, Henry, Leon, Clarence and Ernest Clermont. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Barbeau will be Monday at 10:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, North Adams. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Notre Dame Church Building Fund through the funeral home.
