Wayne 'Cuba' Roy, 58
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Wayne Joseph "Cuba" Roy, 58, of Frederick Street died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Born in North Adams on July 10, 1957, son of Norman J. and Alda Albertazzi Roy, he attended local schools and graduated from McCann Technical School.
Mr. Roy was employed at Morrison Berkshire for 38 years.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He was a member of the North Adams Elks, which named him Elk of the Year in 2014. He was an avid golfer and had been a member of the former North Adams Country Club. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, riding his Harley, and smoking his trademark cigars.
He leaves his daughter, Ashley Marie Roy and her fiance, Justin Soules, of Becket; a sister, Lisa Roy Cleary and her husband, William, of Dracut; a brother, Glenn Roy and his wife, Carol, of Stoughton; a grandson, Sylas Roy Soules of Becket, and four nieces and nephews, Glenn Roy Jr., Nicole Roy, Mackenzie Cruz and Thomas Cleary.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Roy will be Saturday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Elks Lodge Children's Christmas Fund or PopCares in care of the funeral home.
