Dennis G. Strizzi, 67

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Dennis George "Denny" Strizzi, 67, of Luce Road died Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 5, 1947, a son of Dominick J. and Marguerite Wendell Strizzi, he graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1966. A decorated Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, he achieved the rank of corporal. Mr. Strizzi was the owner and operator of a landscaping business, serving customers throughout Berkshire County. He also was employed with the Pittsfield Water Department for several years. He was an enthusiastic supporter of youth sports, in particular youth football and baseball. He was not only coach but mentor to countless players. He coached the Lanesborough Tigers football team for more than 25 years. He took great joy in teaching both the basics of the game, but many life lessons as well. He expected so much more of his players and helped instill the ideals of old fashioned work ethic, the will to compete, how to be a gentleman, fairness to your fellow man, not to be afraid to get your hands dirty but, most importantly, that in the end it was only a game. He also took great joy in all of his children's accomplishments and never missed an event. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He leaves his wife, the former Susan King, whom he married Dec. 12, 1999; a daughter, Shelley Strizzi of Pittsfield; two sons, Dennis D. Strizzi and his wife, Rebecca, of Alexandria, Va., and Michael D. Strizzi of Williamstown; a sister, Susan Spiewak and her husband, Donald, of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Katie and Joshua Bradley, and Dominick Strizzi, and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE - Graveside services with full military honors for Mr. Strizzi will take place Thursday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.

Sue&Mikey,

We are so,so sorry to hear of your loss. It's heartbreaking. I remember the days of watching Strizzi coaching my brother in the Tigers and the happiness he generated. The day Mikey was born will forever be in my memory. Denny was so surprised and excited at the same time. We love you and are here for you in every way! If there is ANYTHING we can do for you and your family please don't hesitate to let us know what we can do to help you. God bless Denny(Strizzi) and you. May he rest in peace and watch over you with love and guidance.
