Marcia J. Mongeon, 58
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marcia Jean Mongeon, 58, of 93 Bradley St. died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 16, 1955, daughter of Harold R. and Priscilla M. Boyer Cook, she attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School.
Mrs. Mongeon worked as a home day-care provider for more than 20 years.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, where she taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine for many years. She enjoyed painting ceramics, reading and playing Yahtzee. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She and her husband, Michael R. Mongeon, were married on Sept. 14, 1974.
Besides her husband of 39 years, she leaves a daughter, Sarah King of Stafford, Va.; two sons, Jeffrey Mongeon and Thomas Mongeon, both of North Adams; four sisters, Sandra Koch, Patricia Kidney, Andrea Benoit and Jessica McCarron; a brother, Thomas Cook; eight grandchildren, Michael, Quinn, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Meghan, Zachary, Gabe and Jenna; her father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Jane Mongeon; her aunt, Lorraine Gannon; nieces and nephews, and her faithful dog, Molly.
Her brother Richard Cook died in infancy.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Mongeon will be at a later date. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private.
