Rachel O. Champney, 87

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Rachel Olivine Champney, 87, of 118 Church St. died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on Sept. 26, 1925, daughter of Ovid and Zenaide Guerin DeBlois, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Champney was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, until her retirement in 1988. S She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. She enjoyed knitting and reading. Her husband, Clifford V. Champney, whom she married on Jan. 3, 1942, died on April 1, 2010. She leaves three sons, Ronald Champney and his, wife, Lona of Houghton, La., Michael Champney and his wife, Wendy, of North Adams, and Mark Champney and his wife, Mary of the town of Florida; a brother, Michael DeBlois of Pittsfield; two sisters, Laurette DeBlois of Pittsfield and Doris Derosia of Vero Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her son Allen Champney and her daughter, Sandra Daub, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE &mdash The funeral for Mrs. Champney will be Monday, March 25, at 11 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Monday morning from 10 until 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care the funeral home.
