Harriet L. Hyndman, 98

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Harriet Louise Hyndman, 98, of Daisy Lane, a former resident of Bennington, Vt., died on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Mechanicville, N.Y., on May 20, 1918, daughter of Alexander and Ethel Ostrander Rose Lewis, she attended schools in Bennington. 

Mrs. Hyndman retired as a sewer at the former Waverly Fabrics in Adams. She had previously worked at the former Sprague Electric in North Adams and at several other places.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking, and was known for her shortbread and potato salad. She also collected and made porcelain dolls. 

Her husband, James A. Hyndman, predeceased her in 1974.

She leaves two daughters, Virginia Maxymillian and her husband, Francis, of North Adams and Beverly Daniels and her husband, Richard, of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Francis Maxymillian Jr., Laurie Maxymillian, Debra Dean, Terri Maxymillian and Tammy Daniels Beckwith; six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her good friend Judy Trombley of Bennington; her sisters-in-law Evelyn Hyndman and Isabel Hyndman; a brother-in-law, David "Mickey" Hyndman; relatives in the Bennington area, and Susie, her cat.

She was predeceased by her son, James J. Hyndman in 2011; two grandsons, Richard E. Daniels and James M. Hyndman; her sister and longtime roommate, Edith Trombley, another sister, Virginia Lewis, in childhood, as well as five brothers, Joseph Rose, Harold Rose, Gordon Rose, Clarence Lewis and Kenneth Lewis. 

FUNERAL NOTICE: No services for Mrs. Hyndman are scheduled at this time.
