Richmond Consolidated Students to Present 'Scapino!'
RICHMOND, Mass. — The students of Richmond Consolidated School in April will present “Scapino!,” a comedy based on the work of Moliere. Directed by Amy Brentano, the play will be performed in the spirit of commedia dell’arte, a form of improvisational comedy that began in Italy in the 16th century.The four performances will take place in the specially created Café Richmondo at the school, located at 1831 State Road. The performances will be held Friday, April 9, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 11, at 2 p.m. Table reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling 413-698-2207. Tickets are $4 for students and $6 for adults.
Brentano is a director, actor and writer who lives in Richmond, Massachusetts.
As one of the smallest public schools in Berkshire County, Richmond Consolidated School is recognized for its music, arts and language programs as well its students’ academic achievement. The school teaches students from preschool through grade eight.
