Dana Bourgoin April 17, 2005
Dana Bourgoin, 26, of 322 Union St. was pronounced dead Sunday in White Creek, N.Y., after drowning in the Hoosic River.
He had been missing since Nov. 2, 2004.
Born in Newburgh, N.Y., on June 16, 1978, son of Kathryn L. Shorey of North Adams, he attended public schools in Worcester.
Mr. Bourgoin moved to North Adams in 2001.
While in Worcester, he attended Holy Name of Jesus Church. He enjoyed playing baseball and was a fan of the Red Sox, the Patriots and NASCAR.
He enjoyed animals and was a cancer survivor.
Besides his mother, with whom he resided, he leaves a daughter, Jazlyn Champagne of Brewster, Maine; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Avery of Groton, Conn.; two sisters, Charis Southwell of North Grosvenordale, Conn., and Kathleen Bourgoin of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Dana Bourgoin will be conducted Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 6 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., by the Rev. Joseph DeCosta, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Dana Bourgoin Memorial Fund in care of Kathryn Shorey through the funeral home.
Survivors include brothers-in-law, Michael Southwell and James Bourgoin; nephews, aunts, uncles, and several close friends.
