Gladys E. Siciliano, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Gladys Edna Siciliano, 78, of St. Joseph's Court, 85 Eagle St., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Dec. 22.Born in North Adams on Nov. 1, 1922, daughter of William and Elizabeth Dumoulin Perras, she attended local schools, including Drury High School.
Mrs. Siciliano was last employed as a cashier for 20 years at Price Chopper on State Road. In previous years, she was employed with the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. during World War II. Later, she was worked at the former Renton's Bakery, the former McGraw and Tatro Store and the former Luries Women's Apparel.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Francis' Church. In her younger years, she was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of its choir. She was also an accomplished singer and soloist with the late Pete DeMeo's orchestra in North Adams.
She leaves her husband, Lucien Siciliano, whom she married on Oct. 18, 1941, in Notre Dame Church; a daughter, Carol A. Crist of Glendora, Calif.; a brother, Ronald Perras of North Adams; two grandchildren, Shaun McCray of Whittier, Calif., and Melissa Stitt of Corona, Calif., and four great-grandchildren, Kaley May, Sara Stitt, Brittany Stitt and Olivia Stitt.
She was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Frances Gigliotti and Bernard A. Perras.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Siciliano will take place Thursday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 from St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 4 until 7 p.m. Flowers may be sent, or donations in her memory are suggested for Elder Services or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
