Constance R. Duteau, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Constance Rita Duteau, 78, of 85 Eagle St. died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2009, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.Born in North Adams on Feb. 10, 1931, daughter of Arthur and Emma Plante Phaneuf, she attended the former Holy Family School and former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Duteau worked at the former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown for about 15 years and later at Hunter Outdoor Products and Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. She was last employed at Gould Farm in Monterey until 1970.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Eagles 310 and Le Cercle Francais in North Adams.
She leaves two daughters, Diana Harrington of Hancock and Suzanne Bergeron of the town of Florida; a son, Richard M. Duteau of North Adams; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Bernard, Roland, Alphonse and Hormidas Phaneuf.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Duteau will be Monday, Sept. 28, at 8:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 7.
