Mary T. Esposito, 91
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary T. Esposito, 91, of 105 Johnson St. died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at North Adams Commons after a brief illness.Born in North Adams on May 26, 1918, daughter of Frank and Carolina Gallenese Vigna, she attended city schools, including Drury High School.
Mrs. Esposito was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for many years, until her retirement in 1979. Before that, she worked at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a longtime volunteer at its annual bazaar. She enjoyed crafts and was very devoted to her family.
Her husband, Dominic A. Esposito, whom she married Feb. 3, 1940, died on June 21, 2002.
She leaves a sister, Roseann E. Shakar of North Adams, and nieces and nephews including Matthew, Michael and Joshua Racette, with whom she was very close.
She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Thomas, Louis, Anthony and Rocco Vigna; two sisters and another brother died in infancy.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Esposito will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, Marshall Street. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
