Marjorie H. Valotta, 84
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Marjorie Helen Valotta, 84, of 74 Lincoln St. died Monday, July 13, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.Born in North Adams on Oct. 25, 1924, a daughter of William and Maude Whitaker Hall, she attended schools in North Adams.
Mrs. Valotta was employed for 40 years at the former Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1988.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and enjoyed sewing.
Her husband, Anthony J. Valotta, the former manager of the Mohawk Theater who was known as "Mr. Mohawk," died Jan. 29, 2002. They were married May 25, 1946.
She leaves a son, Anthony Alfred Valotta and his fiancée, Elizabeth Manns, of Clarksburg; an adopted sister, Virginia Phyllis Jarrett of Williamstown; four grandchildren, Lori Nye, Michael Valotta, Anthony A. Valotta Jr. and William R. Valotta, and six great-grandchildren.
She lost four children in infancy and was also predeceased by three brothers and a sister, Martha Jones, Lawrence, Joseph and Harrison Hall.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' At Mrs. Valotta's request there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place Monday, July 20, at 1 p.m. in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
