Alfred P. Marchio, 89

Born in North Adams on Oct. 6, 1919, son of Philip and Maria Pettinato Marchio, he attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1940.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Marchio was employed for 20 years with the former JT Bus Lines as a manager until his retirement in 1980. Before that, he worked at Marchio's Cafe, which his father had operated on Center Street in North Adams, and as an inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
He was a communicant of the former St. Francis' Church in North Adams. He was a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion, Dr. George Curran Post 996 VFW and the Disabled American Veterans, all in North Adams.
His wife, the former Mary Santelli, whom he married in 1959, died in 1979.
He leaves two daughters, Diane Kyzer of Columbia, S.C., and Christine Kelley of Merritt Island, Fla., three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Nicholas Marchio on May 29, 1966, and Joseph Marchio and two sisters, Rose Wright and Pauline Calvi.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mr. Marchio will be Friday, June 26, at 11a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial with full military honors will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours are one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion in North Adams or Richard Ruether Post 152 American Legion in Williamstown in care of the funeral home.
