Mabel E. Kickery, 95
STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. â€' Mabel Emma Kickery, 95, of Hill Road, Interlaken, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at home.Born in Stillwater, N.Y., on Oct. 13, 1913, daughter of Leonard Salisbury and Ruth Ellen Cassedy Fuller, she was a direct descendent of Edward Fuller of the Mayflower. Her family moved to the Interlaken while she was still in high school, but she rode to school in Lenox in a horse and wagon with her father, who worked on the Blake Estate there, and graduated from Lenox High School.
Mrs. Kickery was an active member of the former Congregational Church of Interlaken and later of the Stockbridge Congregational Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, craft projects, collecting bottles and going to tag sales.
Her husband, Frank Kickery, Jr., whom she married Sept. 26, 1936, in Hillsdale, N.Y., died March 30, 1993. The couple built their home in Interlaken in the 1940s.
She leaves a son, Frank Leonard Kickery; a daughter, Maria Lorane Carr; a sister Naomi Cornelia Kickery; five grandchildren, Kevin, Billy, Garrett and Regina Kickery and Eric Carr; two great-grandchildren, Brian and Cortney Kickery and a great-great grandchild, Ty Brian Kickery.
She was also predeceased by a brother, Edgar Fuller, and two sisters, Marian Schmidt and Edna Fuller.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, from 4 until 6 at Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
